One of the major ongoing costs for any band/musician is practice; this is constantly necessary to accommodate set changes or even occasional adjustments to the line up, and is particularly necessary at the entry level where the performers are not yet attracting fees, when access to REHEARSAL ROOMS can be a significant burden, and the aim is to provide suitable facilities at an economic level, including a LIVE & CONTROL ROOMS STUDIO to allow for monitoring of progress and to make a start in the distribution of the finished product.

The rehearsal room itself will be equipped with a back line, but most established musicians will wish to use most of their own equipment, and for those that plan to practice regularly, the provision of 24/7 LOCK UP REHEARSAL STUDIOS will make it easier, quicker and safer to access this. For those ‘performers’ who prefer practice to the daunting and as yet unknown prospect to a live gig, LIVE STAGE SETUP would allow for ‘breaking the ice’ before a supportive audience of fellow musicians as well as a dress rehearsal facility for the more established band and indeed form part of the live music programme for the Centre. This could be utilized with one of the rehearsal room set ups.

Additionally, as part of the preparation for promoting and marketing the artist(s) A FILMING STUDIO BUILT PURPOSELY FOR MAKING MUSIC VIDEOS would be a useful feature as this is an extremely expensive asset and is beyond the reach in the early stages of development. Bands/Artists will be able to hire out the rehearsal studios on an hourly rate as well as the recording studio. There will be silent studio rooms where bands can rehearse/record silently with the use of in ear monitors with each band member having their own personal custom monitor mix.. great for bands who have very loud drummers or lead guitarists! Empty lock up studios will also be available to rent out on a monthly basis.

Radio can often appear to be a retro facility but it with the proliferation of smart phones and car installed sets it continues to be a flexible and potentially powerful tool providing a means of broadcasting. Our aim therefore is to offer A PLATFORM FOR ALL LOCAL UNSIGNED ARTISTS/BANDS TO GET THEIR MUSIC HEARD BY THE WORLD in the form of a locally based radio station within the Jukebox Studios facilities, of which there are many, but in this case, A RADIO STATION RUN BY MUSICIANS FOR MUSICIANS AND MUSIC LOVERS ALIKE, providing an opportunity for the output of local musicians to reach the airwaves without the delays and distractions involved in presently available alternatives. The programming for this station will include a regular round up of locally produced music and WEEKLY FEATURED ARTISTS WITH INTERVIEWS & LIVE ON AIR SETS, and with a view to developing the currently poor local communication facilities it is proposed to develop and publish a monthly GIG GUIDE. This will feature artists and venues on a monthly basis – hopefully supported by both – as well as details of their appearance on the radio.   Finally, everyone has to start somewhere, and far too many potential musicians give up too easily, so the provision of supportive MUSIC LESSON WORKSHOPS FOR ALL AGES & ABILITIES is seen as an essential component, as is the recognition of the therapeutic value of music for both physical and mental disabilities and these will receive special consideration.
